Ms. Thomas, a third generation native of Palm Beach County, Florida, graduated from Florida State University in 1995, with a Bachelor of Science in Criminology and in Sociology. She then obtained an Associate of Arts in Paralegal Studies from Keiser College and became a NALA Certified Legal Assistant in 1997. Thereafter, Ms. Thomas earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami School of Law. While attending the University of Miami, she interned for both the Public Defender, Second Judicial Circuit, Leon County, Florida and the Public Defender, Eleventh Judicial Circuit, Dade County, Florida.
Ms. Thomas was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2001. Thereafter, she began her legal career as an Assistant State Attorney for the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit in Martin County, Florida. Following Ms. Thomas' experience as a prosecutor, where she gained valuable trial experience, she then focused on civil law specializing in the field of community association law.
At Adams | Coogler, P.A., Ms. Thomas concentrates her practice on insurance defense litigation with her primary focus on defending complex medical malpractice actions and related appeals. She is a member of the Palm Beach County Bar Association; the Florida Association of Women Lawyers; and, the Florida Defense Lawyers Association. Additionally, Ms. Thomas gives back to her community by serving on various leadership committees within her church.
In addition to being admitted to practice in the county and circuit courts in Florida, Ms. Thomas likewise is admitted to practice in federal court in the United States District Court Southern District of Florida; United States District Court Middle District of Florida; and, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Further, she is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court.
Ms. Thomas joined Adams | Coogler, P.A., in 2009, becoming a partner in 2015.
