Mr. Barry earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Florida Atlantic University in 1980 and received his Juris Doctorate degree from Florida State University in 1982. A native of New York, Mr. Barry served in the United States Air Force for twelve years, including a tour of duty in Vietnam. While serving in Vietnam, he was awarded the Bronze Star. After receiving an honorable discharge from the Air Force, Mr. Barry worked as a patrolman for the West Palm Beach Police Department.
Admitted to the Florida Bar in 1983, Mr. Barry concentrates on federal civil rights litigation and automobile, premises, and municipal liability litigation. Mr. Barry has held frequent seminars on Police Civil Liability, and represents many law enforcement agencies such as The Boca Raton and Palm Beach County Sheriff's Department.
Mr. Barry is a member of the Palm Beach County Bar Association, and the Florida Defense Lawyers Association. He is admitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the Trial Bar of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Mr. Barry is also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Barry received his Martindale-Hubbell AV Rating in 1995. The "AV" designation represents the highest rating for legal ability and adherence to ethical standards, professional reliability, and diligence.
Mr. Barry joined Adams | Coogler, P.A. in 1983, becoming a shareholder in 1986.
