Alex Barker graduated from Florida State University, School of Law in 1987. He began his legal career as an Assistant State Attorney in Tallahassee, Florida, gaining extensive trial experience while prosecuting both misdemeanor and felony cases. Mr. Barker then joined the Agency for Healthcare Administration as a senior attorney where he was responsible for directing investigations and prosecuting various healthcare-providers on behalf of the Florida Board of Medicine in Administrative Proceedings.
In 1994, Mr. Barker entered private practice and with the knowledge and skills he had developed in both trial practice and administrative law, began representing physicians and other healthcare providers. Presently, Mr. Barker concentrates his practice to defending complex litigation claims involving medical malpractice, State disciplinary proceedings, personal injury/wrongful death and trucking litigation.
Mr. Barker received his Martindale-Hubbell AV Rating in 2007. The "AV" designation represents the highest rating for legal ability and adherence to ethical standards, professional reliability and diligence. He is also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and the Palm Beach Chapter of ABOTA. This organization requires its members to possess high personal character, an honorable reputation and demonstrate proficiency as a trial lawyer.
Mr. Barker joined Adams | Coogler, P.A. in 1999, becoming a shareholder in 2004.
